A balcony in a home in the Maafannu district of Male’ City collapsed on Tuesday, injuring a pedestrian.
A police spokesperson said the incident was reported to the authorities at around 01:18 pm Tuesday.
According to the spokesperson, the incident resulted in injuries to a Maldivian male, who had been in the street, directly underneath the balcony when it collapsed.
He is being treated at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The extent of his injuries is unclear at this point.
The incident also resulted in damages to motorbikes parked outside the house
