MFDA bans Calpol drops over quality issues

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has banned the import, sale and use of Calpol Paediatric Drops - a fever medicine that contains Paracetamol.

In a statement on Thursday, MFDA said that it found quality issues with the medicine, including discoloration.

MFDA said they are looking into the medicine, and have banned its import, sale and use in the meantime.

Calpol Paediatric Drops are produced by India’s GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals.
