The 37-year-old victim who was critically injured following the explosion of a cylinder at Kulhudhuffushi Airport earlier today has been transported to capital Male’ City for further treatment.
Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital’s Spokesperson Mohamed Moosa told Sun that three out of the four victims injured in Thursday’s explosion are in stable condition at present, while the remaining victim, has been transported to Male’ City for further treatment after his condition escalated to critical.

“Although the three victims sustained injuries to various extent, they are in stable condition now. But, one, whose condition became critical, was sent to Male’ this evening at 5:00pm. Sustained serious injuries to hand,” he said.
The victim who was transported to Male’ is being presently treated at ADK Hospital.
The police said the explosion took place while airport workers were refilling a cylinder used for fire safety exercises.
