Reclamation of Hulhumale’ Phase 3 delayed due to waste

Urbanco, citing the reclamation of Hulhumale’ Phase 3’s Area A will be completed within the next couple of days, said the reclamation works were delayed due to waste discarded in the area.

Briefing on the latest updates of the reclamation works – Urbanco said efforts were presently underway to remove the waste discarded in the area, adding that Area A’s reclamation, will therefore, be completed within the next two to three days.

Prior to this, Urbanco said the reclamation works will be completed by Friday.

Urbanco said the reclamation of Area B will commence after the completion of reclamation of the Area A. Therewith, they have urged to relocate vessels docked at Area B at the earliest.

Physical works on the reclamation of Hulhumale’ Phase 3 began on September 22^nd.

The land is being reclaimed for issuance of land to recipients under the current administration’s ‘Binveriya’ scheme.

63 hectares of land will be reclaimed under this project, from which 700 land plots will be issued.
