Police seek suspect who used counterfeit USD to make purchase

Maldives Police Service, on Monday, has sought public assistance to locate a suspect in a case under investigation by the Economic Crime Department which involves making a purchase at a shop using counterfeit dollars.

In a statement on Monday, police said they have been unsuccessful in their efforts to identify the suspect so far, and therefore, have been unable to locate him.

They have released a video of the suspect alongside the statement.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect, including his identity, has been instructed to share the information with the police by contacting their hotline at 3322111 or the Economic Crime Department at 9790048.

Police also thanked the public for the assistance rendered during such appeals.
