Man who fell off waterslide in Kudagiri dies mid-treatment

A man who fell off a waterslide in Kudagiri picnic island has passed away on Wednesday mid-treatment.

He has been identified as Umar Abdul Hannan, 34, H. Portside K. Male’.

An official from Urbanco told Sun that the incident took place last Thursday while he was on a picnic to Kudagiri with his family.

The official said the man passed away after seven days in a coma in following the incident, without ever regaining consciousness.

“The incident occurred amid water sliding; he fell, at high speed, into the sea, headfirst. Was immediately brought to Male’ for treatment. He passed away today, after seven days in a coma,” the official detailed.

Sun has learned that Umar worked as an airport representative.

His funeral was held after Isha prayer tonight, at Hulhumale’ cemetery.
