Hulhumale’ Hospital states all eight passengers taken to the hospital following the collision between two speedboats earlier tonight are in good health.
The two speedboats traveling near Hulhumale’ collided at approximately 20:36pm. One of the speedboats had been traveling to the airport from Joy Island, transporting tourists, while the other, owned by Leo Trading, had been transporting company employees.
Hulhumale’ Hospital, updating Sun on the condition of the eight passengers taken to the hospital following the collision, said five of them have already been discharged. The hospital, noting the other three passengers were in observation, stressed they were in good health.
The speedboat traveling to the airport had 13 passengers aboard, including three crew members. Coastguard reports none of them sustained serious injuries, and have all proceeded to the airport for their departure.
