Search launched for missing man from Male’ City

Police have launched a search operation for a man reported missing from Male’ City; a man who was arrested previously for graffitiing ‘India Out’ on the walls of various buildings in the city.

The missing man has been identified as 34-year-old Abdul Gaffaar Abdul Gafoor. He was arrested for graffitiing ‘India Out’ on walls in May last year, however, has since been released.

Police said his family reported him missing at approximately 7:00pm on Wednesday night after days of no contact.

Police, citing his family, said Abdul Gaffaar was last seen at approximately 11:00pm on the night of August 31^st. He was wearing a grey shirt and black jeans.

Gaffaar was arrested in connection to the graffiti case on May 17, 2022, as he hid inside a bathroom to evade the police. He was arrested for disrupting public order, however, has since been released.

Police have urged anyone with information regarding Abdul Gaffar to contact them.
