Professor Ugail: No reason to change the current administration

Professor Hussain Ugail has revealed his candidate of choice in the upcoming presidential elections; President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Ugail stressed there was no reason to change the current administration as the administration peacefully undertakes a multitude of developmental projects. He described giving a second term to President Solih as the best course of action for the nation.

As per Ugail, a change in administration is a setback, which states will stop a number of developmental projects.

“This is a fact that should be accepted. A habit. Hence, I support to move forward with President Solih,” he added.

Ugail has previously expressed interest in the political field, with rumors circulating he will contest this presidential election.

Ugail, the first and only Maldivian to date to receive a professorship in science, is also the first Maldivian to achieve a PhD in Mathematics.
