Missing man from Male’ located

The man who was reported missing from Male’ City earlier today has been found safe.

34-year-old Abdul Gaffaar was reported missing by his family at approximately 7:00pm on Wednesday night after days of no contact.

Police, citing his family, said Abdul Gaffaar was last seen at approximately 11:00pm on the night of August 31^st.

Police said he was found sometime this evening, but gave no further details.

Gaffaar was arrested on May 17, 2022, for graffitiing ‘India Out’ on the walls of various buildings in Male’ City. He was caught while hiding inside a bathroom to evade the police on charges of disrupting public order, and was released shortly after.
