Muizzu to Gadhdhoo people: Will return Gan, develop airport

Presidential candidate from the opposition coalition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Peoples National Congress (PNC) Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday vowed to declare Gdh.Gan as an island that belongs to the people, and to develop nearby Maavarulu Airport. 

He made these pledges while visiting Gdh.Gadhdhoo as part of his campaign tours. 

Speaking to the people, Muizzu noted that there was much to be done for the development of the people of this island. 

Many people from Gadhdhoo request the presidential candidate for further development of the airport, and to include Gan as part of the island. 

“For the future of the people of this island, you will witness us coloring your dreams in an innovative manner.”

He promised to make Gan a part of Gadhdhoo, and ensure it is beneficial economically and in other ways to the entire atoll. 

In addition to this, Muizzu stressed the importance of developing Maavarulu airport for the future of Gadhdhoo, and ensured that he would do that, and add the number of flights to the destination. 

“Will make the airport a complete one. With the airport, when tourism expands, then real progress will be seen in the area.”

Furthermore, he stated that the island boasts a noteworthy surfing point, and vowed to expand surfing tourism, and generate profits. 

Muizzu also pledged to develop a hospital that meets the standards of the people in Gadhdhoo.
