President pledges to join Medhufushi and Dhiyamigili by reclaiming land

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih pledges to reclaim land in Th. Dhiyamigili and to join Dhiyamigili and the neighbouring island Medhufushi if he is elected for a second term.

Speaking at Dhiyamigili, President Solih revealed many things he will do for the island in his second term. 

These things include:

  • Reclaiming land and joining Medhufushi and Dhiyamigili
  • Building flats or row houses
  • Paving big roads with tar
  • Develop the school and build a multipurpose hall
  • Constructing s 10-tonne ice plant
  • Preserving the eroding parts of the island
  • Making a causeway between Dhiyamigili and Medhufushi, if possible

He said that he has begun his campaign for reelection with many goals and that those goals are to build on the foundations of the projects already in motion and doubling the economy.

He further said that one thing to consider when voting is how many of the pledges made by the past regimes were completed and how many pledges his regime has completed. President Solih said he guarantees that these five years have seen the most projects started in history.

“I wish you to come out and stay with us in the upcoming presidential election,” he said.

President Solih also said that its important to see who completes the pledges they make.

He said that the reason Maldives is lagging in development is because the previous government abused the people's money and neglected the people.
