No arrests in fatal boat accident

Police state they have yet to make an arrest in connection to the speedboat crash off Feydhoofinolhu on Saturday, that resulted in one fatality.

The collision of two speedboats was reported to police at around 04:42 pm Saturday.

The accident resulted in injuries to Saudulla Ahmed, 53, a businessman from B. Kudarikilu, who died shortly after he was taken to the ADK Hospital in Male’.

A police spokesperson said Sunday that they have yet to make an arrest in the case, but said the accident is under investigation.

Saudulla was the managing director of SAS E Construction, which engages in major projects such as land reclamation and coastal protection.

He had previously worked at Rainbow Enterprises and AMIN Construction.

Saudulla is survived by three children and nine siblings.
