Haggul Yageen, a Quran competition SSTV is holding in the upcoming Ramadan, is garnering huge support, according to the channel’s senior producer Aminath Haifa.
Applications for the competition, which children can participate in from the comfort of their own homes, was opened last Thursday.
Haifa said the competition has been receiving huge support. She said she hopes to see a lot of children from the atolls participate in the competition.
“We are receiving huge support for the Haggul Yageen Quran Competition. Thousands of children across Maldives are expressing interest in participating in the competition,” she said.
Haifa said she is confident the competition will turn out to be success.
She believes the competition offers a golden opportunity for children in the atolls who recite Quran beautifully.
“I believe this competition facilitates opportunities, especially for children in the atolls who receive Quran beautifully. SSTV will run many such initiatives in the future. Our primary goal is to ensure that children in the atolls aren’t sidelined,” she said.
The age categories:
Participants must record recitations of maximum six lines from the Quran and submit to SSTV.
