Man wanted for involvement in gang violence

The police are looking for a young man wanted in connection to an investigation into a case involving gang violence using sharp-edged weapons.

The police asked for the public’s assistance in locating Ibrahim Faih Nizam, 25, Rahdhebaige, S. Maradhoo Feydhoo, on Wednesday.

He is wanted in an investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Department.

Police have asked for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Serious and Organized Crime Department at 9911099 or call the police hotline 3322111.

Police took the opportunity to thank the public for their support in such matters.

While the police did not disclose the specifics of the case Faih is in connected to, Male’ City has been hit with a series of gang-linked attacks in recent weeks. This includes a stabbing at the Vilimale’ Ferry Terminal in Male’ on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson told Sun on Wednesday that they have yet to make an arrest in the case.

The victim of the stabbing is being treated at the ADK Hospital.

It preceded an attack in a street in Henveiru district early Monday which left one injured.
