Two arrested from Sinamale’ Bridge with 264 alcohol bottles

Two people that were in possession of 264 alcohol bottles have been arrested from Sinamale’ Bridge.

A media official from Maldives Police Service said that the two were arrested during an operation carried out in Male’ City last night based on intel received to Police Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Department.

They identified the arrestees as two 32-year-old Maldivian men.

Both of them were arrested after discovering 264 alcohol bottles inside a car they were driving on Sinamale’ Bridge when stopped and searched.

“The case is under further investigation by the Drug Enforcement Department,” the official said.
