Man arrested from Thulhaadhoo for blackmailing married couple

A suspect has been arrested from B. Thulhaadhoo for blackmail.

According to a police spokesperson, the blackmail case was reported to the police on Friday.

The police arrested a 31-year-old Maldivian male in connection to the case on Sunday night, said the spokesperson.

The suspect in question had reportedly blackmailed a married couple using explicit videos.

The incident had sparked unrest in Thulhaadhoo on Sunday night.
