Three arrested with drugs from N. Atoll

Three suspects have been arrested in counter-narcotics operations in two islands of N. Atoll.

The first operation was run in N. Manadhoo on Wednesday. Police arrested two suspects in the operation – 26-year-old female and a 45-year-old male – and seized nine cellophane packets containing drugs.

They were remanded in custody of the police for seven days when presented before the N. Lhohi Magistrate Court for their remand hearing.

The second operation was run in N. Velidhoo on Thursday and led to the arrest of a 34-year-old female. The police also found a plastic packet containing drugs.

 Both operations were joint operations run by the Drug Enforcement Department, Police Intelligence, and N. Atoll Police.

The cases are under investigation by the police.
