Gender Ministry states it received reports of 92 cases of different forms of violence against children in September.
Gender Ministry released its case statistics for September on Tuesday.
According to Gender Ministry, it received and attended to 219 cases in September, the majority of which involved violence against children, including negligence, sexual abuse, and physical abuse – 19 cases were reported on all three forms of abuse.
Meanwhile, 18 more cases involved emotional abuse, 10 involved witnessing domestic violence, three involved bullying, two involved harassment, and two involved blackmail.
Gender Ministry also attended to 36 cases of gender-based violence and domestic violence in September.
19 of the cases involved emotional or verbal abuse, 10 involved physical violence, two involved rape, two involved sexual violence, two involved controlling behavior, and one involved intimidation.
Gender Ministry attended to 30 cases involving family issues.
16 of the cases involved access to children, nine involved parenting issues, and five involved custody or access issues.
Meanwhile, 18 cases were reported to the Gender Ministry in September involving care and support of the elderly and persons with disabilities.
It included 13 cases involving care and support for persons with disabilities, and five cases involving care and support for the elderly.
One was reported in September involved inability to provide healthcare.
Gender Ministry attended to 19 cases involving self-harm or suicidal behavior in September.
It included 10 cases involving self-harming, five cases involving suicidal thoughts, and four cases involving suicidal behavior.
Meanwhile, Gender Ministry also attended to one case involving children in conflict with the law.
17 cases involving child behavioral problems were reported in September, including five cases of refusal to attend school, three cases of running away from home, three cases involving disciplinary issues, one case of temper tantrums, one case of aggression, oppositional or antisocial behavior, and four cases involving other issues.
Gender Ministry also attended to five cases involving violation of child rights in September. It involved of four cases of refusal to send children to school, and one case involving acquiring a national ID card, passport and birth certificate.
There are 186 children under state care; 107 boys and 79 girls. Four children were taken into state care in September, while three were reintegrated with their family, two were placed with a foster families, and one was reintegrated to the society with a job after turning 18 years of age.
