President: Preparations underway for hospital in Hulhumale’ Phase II

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih states that preparations are underway to begin construction of a hospital in Hulhumale’ Phase II – where the residential population is expected to rise to 70,000 soon.

He made the announcement in his speech during the ceremony on Wednesday evening to introduce Maldives Transport and Contacting Company (MTCC)’s Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus service to Hulhumale’ Phase II.

President Solih said his administration had been working hard to establish essential services required by the residents of Hulhumale’ Phase II ever since the area was populated.

“The administration, HDC – the corporation in charge of managing Hulhumale’, and other state institutions began hard work to establish essential services for the residents of this area as quickly as possible,” he said.

President Solih said that the administration planned on opening three clinics and a pharmacy to provide healthcare services to residents of the area.

“In addition to this, HDC is preparing to open tender and begin construction of an additional hospital in Hulhumale’ Phase II, and additional healthcare facilities,” he said.

He said that the development of new schools, mosques, and roads were also in progress.

Speaking further, President Solih commended MTCC, stating the company had made considerable progress in realizing the administration’s goals of establishing an efficient, affordable, convenient, and sustainable nationwide transportation network.

The RTL bus service to Hulhumale’ Phase II launched with 15 new buses, each with a capacity to carry 86 passengers.
