Islamic Ministry has engaged in discussions with relevant institutions to facilitate easy arrangements for this year’s hajj pilgrims to travel to the airport for departure.
The discussions were held on Monday, and was attended by officials from the President’s Office, Maldives Hajj Corporation, Maldives National Defense Force, Maldives Police Service, Maldives Airports Company Limited, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, and Housing Development Corporation.
Islamic Ministry said the discussions focused on making convenient arrangements to ensure pilgrims can go to the airport to catch their flight to Saudi Arabia.
It included facilitating travel within Male’, and making arrangements for when pilgrims to wait at the airport, and the policies for caretakers of pilgrims.
The discussions also focused on taking measures to respond to possible weather changes.
Maldivian pilgrims will fly to Saudi Arabia on three flights; on June 26, June 29, and July 2.
