Vice President Faisal Naseem departed for New York, United States on an official visit, Sunday evening.
He is accompanied by his wife Aishath Shamsadha and a high-level delegation.
During the visit, the Vice President is scheduled to attend the high-level thematic debate convened by the President of the United Nations General Assembly on the theme "Putting sustainable and resilient tourism at the heart of an inclusive recovery."
The debate is convened in collaboration with the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
Moreover, this event provides the opportunity for member states and other relevant stakeholders to discuss strategies and share best practices and experiences in three high-level thematic roundtables.
The Vice President is set to return on May 11 after concluding the visit.
