Italian tourist who went to snorkeling at Thulsdhoo dies after drowning

An Italian tourist who went snorkeling at K. Thulusdhoo lagoon has died after drowning.

Thulusdhoo Council President Aslam Moosa told Sun that the dead body of the tourist was discovered this morning, sometime between 9:45am and 10:00am.

He identified the drowning victim as a 72-year-old Italian man who was in Thulusdhoo for vacation along with his family.

Aslam said that it was the crew on the passing by launch that had discovered his body. He detailed that the crew believed the man was already dead when they recovered his body from the sea.

The Italian man had traveled to Thulusdhoo with his wife and two children.
