3 migrant workers injured in a dangerous accident at Thilafushi

Three migrant workers injured in a dangerous accident at Thilafushi are currently being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Police said that three migrants who were working at a site in Thilafushi were taken to IGMH at around 11:00am this morning after being injured in an accident.

Sun has learned that one of the migrants has sustained severe injuries to his right leg and foot. His leg has been reportedly fractured and ‘crushed’.

The extent of the injuries of the remaining two migrants remains unclear at the moment. The cause of the accident, and how it occurred also remains unclear.

However, Police stressed that they were investigating the accident further.

At the end of last year, a migrant who was working at a construction site in Thilafushi had fallen to his death in an accident as well.
