Fuvahmulah man opens clinic in memory of daughter, who died due to medical negligence

Sadha Saudhulla, 5.

A man from Fuvahmulah City has opened a private clinic in memory of his young daughter Sadha Saudhulla and her grandmother, who died in 2021 and 2017, respectively, due to negligence of the city’s hospital.

Saudhulla Ahmed Hassan Didi told Sun that the aim of Fuvahmulah Medical Center is to provide responsible services that prevent other families from undergoing similar suffering.

He said that the clinic will provide services that the city’s hospital does not offer.

“The services currently available at the clinic are the services of a pediatrician and a general doctor. We are also bringing in some four doctors specialized in treatment of visually impaired,” he said.

Saudhulla said that physician Mohamed Ali and pediatrician Hussain Mahir have already registered to assist the clinic, along with psychologist Dr. Aishath Ali Naz, dermatologist Mohamed Haikal Ali Rahman, neurologist Ahmed Rasheed and dietician Asiya Abdul Raheem.

“We are planning on expanding our services by introducing speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and services of a special educator over the next two months,” he said.

Sadha, 5, was taken to Fuvahmulah Hospital on October 3 last year with stomach pain and vomiting after she failed to receive services from the flu clinic. Saudhulla said his daughter died shortly after she was administered an injection at the hospital.
