STO opens paid training opportunities for youths

State Trading Organization (STO) has opened applications for training opportunities for youths to gain training and experience in a work environment.

The training opportunities have been initiated in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment – as part of the National Apprenticeship Program.

A total of 26 slots have been opened by STO for youths in the areas of electrical installation and maintenance, automotive maintenance, retail services, media production, photography and refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics.

STO said that participants will receive MVR 40 per hour, as an allowance, during the time they spend working.

STO will be accepting application forms for the slots until January 23. Applications can be submitted online.

The National Apprenticeship Program is designed to facilitate youths around the country to participate and learn a skill from the experienced supervisors stationed at the actual work environments. The program is implemented in collaboration with government companies and private companies providing employment opportunities in addition to training institutions.
