Pakistan High Commission commemorates Kashmir Black Day in Male’

The Pakistan High Commission in Male’, organized an event on Wednesday, to commemorate Kashmir Black Day. 

The event began with a documentary featuring the history and significance of Kashmir Black Day. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Head of Mission at the Pakistan High Commission, Zulqurnain Ahmad said that the dream of stability and peace in South Asia and the world at large will remain elusive until the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions and aspiration of Kashmiris.  

He said that Pakistan urges the international community including United Nations and its relevant human rights machinery, civil society organizations, the media and other human rights advocates to fulfill their obligations towards Kashmiris by playing their part to end oppression.  

Zulqurnain called on the UN to allow free access to special procedure mandate holders of UN Human Rights Council for independent investigations of human rights violations. 

“Kashmiris must be allowed to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in international law and the relevant UNSC resolutions,” he said. 

Zulqurnain said that under the leadership of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country was determined to provide support to Kashmiris until the realization of their right to self-determination.
