Home Minister Imran Abdulla has made a successful recovery from COVID-19 – and subsequently has returned to work.
Spokesperson of Home Ministry Hafsy Abdulla confirmed to Sun that Minister Imran had made a full recovery and that he had begun attending the office last Wednesday.
Minister Imran had tested positive for COVID-19 on July 29. While a source of infection has not been identified – it was noted that the Minister had traveled to M. Kolhufushi, 10 days prior. He tested positive after he returned to Male’ City.
Kolhufushi was placed under monitoring mechanism on July 29 – however, a member of Kolhufushi Council has told Sun it was likely that there were COVID-19 cases on the island prior to his arrival as well.
Minister Imran is from Kolhufushi.
