Imran asks for 65% of votes from Kolhufushi

Home Minister Imran Abdulla, a native of M. Kolhufushi, asked the residents of the island for over 65 percent of votes from the island for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Imran, who is accompanying the president on a campaign visit to Kolhufushi on Saturday, there had never been a time when so many developmental projects have been concurrently running in the island.

“There was no one to be seen when the one-third of this island was destroyed in the tsunami, and the people of this island have been devastated and begging one administration after the next. There wasn’t a president or minister willing to listen,” he said.

Imran said that it had been President Solih who had “saved Kolhufushi”.

He said that the residents of Kolhufushi can be certain that President Solih will fulfill his electoral pledges, and asked them to show it through their vote in the upcoming presidential election.

“So, at least 65 percent of this island’s votes must go to the president,” he said.

Imran said that the president will run more projects in Kolhufushi if he is re-elected for a second term.

“The president has now pledged to conduct six more projects,” he said.
