Health Protection Agency (HPA) has opened online bookings for appointments for the first and second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine for all residents of the greater Male’ region.
Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) announced the arrival of a shipment of AstraZeneca vaccines ordered by Maldives last Wednesday. The government has also announced launch of a vaccination campaign on July 31 to fully vaccinate 90 percent of the eligible population in Maldives.
In a tweet on Thursday morning, HPA announced online bookings are now open for appointments to receive the first and second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. A date and time of choice can be booked through HPA’s online portal.
HPA said that those who book appointments will receive an SMS confirming their booking, which must be shown at the vaccination center.
HPA has also advised those who make bookings to arrive at the vaccination center at least 15 minutes before their appointed time, and warned that those who fail to arrive on time and miss their appointment will need to book a new appointment.
Those who face issues booking an appointment have been advised to call HPA’s hotline 1676.
In a press conference last Wednesday, HEOC announced that those who received their first dose of Covidshield are also eligible to receive a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine as their second dose.
