First Lady Fazna Ahmed tests positive for COVID-19

The First Lady of the Maldives Fazna Ahmed has tested positive for COVID-19. 

The President's Office made an announcement confirming that the First Lady had indeed tested positive for COVID-19 and was now in isolation away from her family. The President's Office statement also read that Madam Fazna was in good health despite the positive test results. 

The President's Office also stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the President's family had all tested for the virus, but the results came back as negative, except for the First Lady. 

Madam Fazna's positive result comes shortly after her brother-in-law, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed and his spouse also tested positive for COVID-19. The Commissioner and his wife Nazeeha Ahmed who is a sibling of the First Lady are also now in isolation. The positive results led to CP Hameed taking part in the first board meeting of the Police board virtually today
