Travelers from Kudahuvadhoo since Feb 26. requested to report

Heath authorities have requested for anyone who traveled from the island of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo to anywhere else in the nation since February 26, to report themselves, after six cases of COVID-19 were confirmed from the island.

The positive cases, staffers of the Kudahuvadhoo airport, tested positive today, leading to monitoring mechanisms being placed on the island to prevent the spread of the virus even further. 

Health Protection Agency requested anyone who traveled from the island to another location since February 26, to report themselves to the nearest health center or hospital. HPA also requested anyone who had traveled to the island afterward to observe a 14-day quarantine. 

Authorities are conducting contact tracing and case investigations on the island which is the biggest population center in the atoll. 

The total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the Maldives is closing in 30,000 with 142 confirmed tonight alone. Apart from Kudahuvadhoo, the island of AA. Thoddoo is also under monitoring mechanisms.
