Fenaka launches smart meter service in Kudahuvadhoo

Fenaka Corporation finished installing smart meters in the households of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo under the Fenaka Smart Meter Project, and officially launched services on Tuesday.

Fenaka said the project aims to utilize technological advancements to improve the convenience of customers.

The service was launched in Kudahuvadhoo on Tuesday evening in a ceremony attended by Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim.

The utility also launched a mobile app for smart meters, which will enable customers to monitor daily electricity usage via their mobile phones.

The smart meters launched under the project are automotive and will replace the previously utilized analogue and digital meters.

The smart meters used in the project are produced by China’s Dongfeng.

The corporation is currently installing smart meters in other islands of Dh. Atoll, and in HDh. Atoll, B. Atoll, M. Atoll, F. Atoll, Th. Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City.

Fenaka plans on rolling out smart meters to all islands it provides utility services to within the next one year.
