Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 142 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 21,961.
According to HPA, the new cases include;112 cases from the greater Male’ region, 11 cases from residential islands outside Male', 19 cases from operational resorts, three from liveaboards, and three from islands under development.
Meanwhile, 177 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 19,519.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,371 active cases.
There are 118 patients in hospitals.
3,777 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for the COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
64 patients have died from complications.
HPA stated that 1,366 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. All of those vaccinated today were from other atolls apart from the capital area.
Total 215,852 people have now been inoculated under the program; 121,630 from the greater Male’ region, and 94,222 from other atolls.
