Further case of COVID-19 confirmed in Thulusdhoo

A third case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in the island of K. Thulusdhoo.

Previously, two cases of the virus were confirmed in the island when two migrant workers on the island were tested positive. It is understood that the third case confirmed today, is also a migrant in the island.

Two employees of a company carrying out construction work in Thulusdhoo had tested positive for the virus after arriving in Male’ City on April 15. The two employees had tested positive for the virus on April 21. Due to these cases, contact tracing on the island saw samples collected from 40 individuals on the island. 

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives currently stands at 527.
