80-year old virus patient in serious condition

The authorities have confirmed that the condition of the 80-year old patient admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital has become sever.

The man was admitted at the special wing of Dharumavantha Hospital, which treats respiratory problems, on April 21.

Speaking in a press conference tonight, National Emergency Operations Center medical officer Dr. Ibrahim Afzal stated that the man’s condition has deteriorated and was connected with an external source of oxygen.

“I have just received news that the 80-year old patient admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital was connected with an external oxygen supply.” Said Dr. Afzal who did not provide additional details.

Two others are being treated at the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. They are a 68-year old Maldivian female and a 48-year old Pakistani male. Dr. Afzal stated that the remaining patients at the hospital were stable.

NEOC is preparing for an emergency press conference at 1:00.
