Vice President of the Maldives Faisal Naseem has held discussions with senior officials from the regional and atoll hospitals of the country regarding the challenges posed to the sector due to the current situation of a public health emergency.
The main focus of the meetings held online was on the difficulties faced by the hospitals. However, the Vice President also clarified how individuals with permanent conditions and illnesses were receiving treatment. In addition to this, the Vice President also clarified how people are receiving treatment for other common illnesses.
The Vice President stressed on the importance of continuing the health services without any hindrances during the delicate situation.
Senior officials from the hospitals shared with the Vice President the challenges posed to them especially regarding the COVID-19 virus. The sector was facing difficulties due to the travel restrictions imposed on the nation which caused problems in sourcing medical supplies.
