A dedicated hotline has been established for the government’s job center portal which will take in reports from employees regarding changes brought to the status of their work amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

The job center was officially established to report cases of employees sent on no-pay leaves, wage cuts, or dismissals.

The hotline number for the job center portal is 1475. The center will be open from 10:00 to 15:00 Sunday to Thursday.

Around 1300 complaints have been received by the center so far.

The hotline was established due to difficulties by some people regarding the electronic registration process. The government has recently announced that it will be providing those who were dismissed from their jobs due to the economic situation with COVID-19, an allowance of MVR 5000.
