National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has confirmed that the condition of the elderly patient who tested positive for COVID-19 had not changed.
Medical team members of NEOC has previously stated that the 80-year old individual’s condition was serious, due to multiple health complications. The individual has been identified as a local male and doctors at NEOC stated that the man’s condition has not worsened since then. In a press conference yesterday, NEOC medical officer Dr. Moosa Hussain stated that man had been bedridden after suffering a stroke two years ago.
Dr. Moosa Muraad, speaking in a press conference today, said that the man was being treated at the DH11 facility of Dharumavantha Hospital. He added that the man had health complications such as Diabetes, High blood pressure, Hgh Cholesterol, and had been previously admitted for Pneumonia.
“We are anticipating that the condition may deteriorate due to the individual being above 80-years and suffering from various health issues.” Said Dr. Moosa.
The doctor added that when admitted the man’s oxygen levels stood at 94, lower than the normal rate of 98 for people at the age. The doctor reiterated that the man’s condition has not deteriorated when compared with yesterday.
