Yellow weather alert issued over Fuvahmulah, Addu

Maldives Meteorological Service, on Wednesday, issued yellow alert from Fuvahmulah City to Addu City, warning of torrential rain and thunderstorms.

The yellow alert is in effect from 1 pm to 4 pm.

While scattered showers with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in the southern-most atolls, the weather is expected to be generally fine elsewhere.

Winds will be northeast/easterly at 8 – 18 miles per hour in central atolls and 5 – 13 miles per hour elsewhere.

Seas will be moderate in central atolls, and slight elsewhere.
