Vaccine stamps stolen from health center in Addu

The Dhamanaveshi Urban Primary Health Care Center in Addu city. It was reported that robbers had stolen a vaccine stamp from the center on December 24, 2019.

A vaccine stamp has been stolen from the Urban Primary Health Care Center in Addu city.

Mohamed Ihuthishaam Najeeb, the health officer of the center named “Dhamanaveshi” stated that the stamp was stolen on December 24, 2019.

A CPU containing official documents, the official stamp of the center, vaccination centers, two keyboards, a tool kit, and a color printer as well as MVR 1800 was stolen from the center, according to Ihuthishaam.

The theft comes to light amidst allegation that some schools in Addu city had enrolled children who were not vaccinated. Ihuthishaam stated that the theft was a concerning matter since a CPU containing official documents and the vaccination stamp was stolen. Ihuthishaam stated that fears of the items being misused existed.

“Vaccines are available from anywhere in the country. It is very likely that something like this might happen. The stamps can be used on any island and, vaccine cards. We are very concerned with this.“ said Ihuthishaam.

The matter has been officially lodged with Police. The case was submitted on December 26 and is under investigation by Police.
