Higher Education Minister discusses educational opportunities in Australia

Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has engaged in discussions regarding educational opportunities available for Maldivian students in Australia.

The discussions took place in a meeting with Maldivian graduates who received scholarships under the Australia Awards program, which took place at the Higher Education Ministry headquarters on Thursday, December 26.

The discussions focused on exploring avenues to deepen the cooperation between Maldives and Australia in the field of education.

Dr. Ibrahim Hassan reviewed the benefits which Maldives has received under Australia Awards, and discussed potential opportunities in new fields of education which may be granted the program to aid in the development of Maldives.

He also welcomed the support of the Australian government in human resources development in Maldives, and thanked graduates who received their education through scholarships under the Australia Awards for their contribution to the government, private sector businesses, and international organizations such as the United Nations.

Australia Awards is a scholarship program launched by the Australian government strengthen its public and economic diplomacy with bilateral partners. It grants scholarship opportunities in fields of study judges to be the most crucial for the development of its bilateral partners.
