Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has begun its Open Day program to brief local youth on employment opportunities available at the company.
MWSC’s Open Day program – held under Youth Ministry’s Career Exploration Program – began at MWSC headquarters this Thursday morning.
Participants of the Open Day program were welcomed by MWSC’s managing director Adam Azim, who, in his speech, highlighted on the importance of choosing a career that the youth are passionate about.
Total 10 young adults are taking part in the Open Day program.
According to MWSC, the purpose of its Open Day program is to provide the youth information on the different employment opportunities available at the company, and to familiarize the youth on the work environment.
The participants of the program are being briefed on the key responsibilities of the different departments within MWSC and the multidisciplinary specializations they can choose for a future career at MWSC by its staff.
The participants are also scheduled for guided tours of MWSC’s RO plant, bottling factory, waste water pumping station and other facilities.
Youth Ministry’s Career Exploration Program is focused on briefing the youth on employment opportunities available from the tourism industry, transport industry and construction industry, as well as other industries and the social sector.
Recent findings by the World Bank show unemployment among youth and women to be the biggest challenge facing the Maldivian labor market.
