The Economic Ministry has stated that it has finalized areas where businesses can operate on a 24-hour basis in Fuvahmulah City in the south of Maldives and will soon start rolling out permits.

The businesses under these permits will be allowed to operate for 24 hours. The Economic Ministry stated that these permits are limited to just three areas of one of the biggest islands in the country. The three areas are for businesses located on Ghaazee road in the middle of the city, Mohamed Jamaaluddine road in the south and Gen Miskiy road in the North.

Applications for the permits can be submitted to the Fuvahmulah City council and only businesses can only carry out the sale of necessary items in these 24-hour shops. The Ministry also stated that permits will be given if the businesses fulfill the requirements. Moreover, these businesses should be closed only for prayer times and be able to provide service on all other times.
