Discussions have been held with senior officials from Saudi Fund for Developments to start the development of the new terminal in Velana International Airport this June.
Development project of the new terminal in VIA was brought to a halt during the last year. Reason for the sudden halt in the development of the new terminal is still unclear.
The development project was previously handled by Saudi Binladin Group.
In a meeting held at Finance Ministry this Wednesday morning, Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer discussed the airport development project with the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Saudi Fund for Developments Dr. Khalid Bin Sulaiman.
