V.Thinadhoo/Red House (Sea Life case). It will soon be made a public Red Notice.
SeaLife Global signed a contract with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) in 2014 to develop 3,000 housing units in the first phase of Hulhumale'. Instead of actually developing the area, they took MVR 50,000 each from 280 individuals and disregarded their complains on the delay of developments and the demand for refunds. Some even paid more than MVR 50,000 as their down payments or booking fees.
Ammaty who fled the country when the Police commenced their investigation into the issue is currently living in Sri-Lanka, according to local news.
The Criminal Court has issued an order to arrest Ammaty.
The case is also under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
