2 arrested from fuel boat for drug trafficking

Four people were arrested with narcotics during a search on a fuel supply boat in an operation by the L. Gan Police Station last Tuesday night.

The boat was travelling to L. Kalaidhoo when the police received an intelligence report of narcotics onboard the ship.

The police obtained a search warrant and boarded the boat as it docked at the Kaladhoo Harbor at 7:49 pm.

Officers confiscated one emptied film canister containing narcotics and one plastic bag containing narcotics during search, and arrested four suspects.

The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, a 26-year-old male, and a 34-year-old male – all of Maldivian nationality.

The case is under investigation by the L. Gan Police Station.
