Customs intercepts drug shipment valued at MVR 96,000

Maldives Customs has intercepted a drug shipment valued at MVR 96,000 smuggled into Maldives via courier from Netherlands.

Maldives Customs reports the shipment was intercepted on February 19.

The drugs, weighing 32 grams, hidden inside a package, tested positive for cocaine.

The street value of the shipment of cocaine is estimated at MVR 96,000.

Maldives Customs reports the case is under further investigation by Maldives Police Service.
