Two foreigners have been arrested in Male’ City with a large quantity of drugs.
Maldives Police Service said that they arrested two 21-year-olds but did not reveal their nationality. Police found 57 packets of suspected drugs on them.
One of them was arrested at Velana International Airport after his luggage was scanned by the Customs Service. A total of 31 packets of suspected drugs were found in his luggage.
The other man was arrested at his residence with 26 packets of suspected drugs.
Both of them have been remanded by 15 days.
Last Wednesday, Maldives Customs Service seized MVR 1.6 million worth of drugs from a Bangladeshi national who entered the country. Customs said that they found 2,084 packets of suspected drugs that tested for amphetamine.
