President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, this Thursday, visited Lh. Naifaru as part of his current tour of two atolls.
Solih was greeted upon arrival at Naifaru this Thursday morning by council members.
President’s Office reports Solih met with members of Naifaru Council and discussed work being undertaken by the island council, and future plans of the council for the development of the island, as well as challenges faced by the council and the community of Naifaru.
Solih’s first stop during his current tour was at R. Dhuvaafaharu where he attended the official Unity Day function to mark the anniversary of the Great Tsunami of 2004.
He also met with members of the R. Dhuvaafaru Council and R. Ungoofaaru Council.
He also made a non-official visit to his island of birth, Lh. Hinnavaru, last Wednesday - the first visit since he assumed office in September.
And traveled to Lh. Kudahuvadhoo to open the Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi – a luxury resort developed on Kudahuvadhoo by Crown and Champa Resorts.
Solih will travel to N. Hen’badhoo to initiate sanitation services on the island and meet with the local council later this Thursday.
